Mr Omole

A First Class Honors graduate of Communication Arts from the University of Ibadan, Omole previously worked at the then Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation now Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria between 1974 and 1976 as a radio announcer.

According to the statement, he later joined the Nigeria Television Authority as a reporter, editor and television news anchor in 1980 and moved to Chevron Nigeria Limited in 1985.

It stated, ‘‘He rose through several assignments at CNL to become General Manager, Government and Public Affairs in 1995. Omole was transferred to the corporate headquarters of Chevron Corporation in California, USA in 2004 as Senior Advisor, Corporate Responsibility and Community Engagement. In 2007, he was appointed Chevron’s Africa Representative in Washington, D.C. He retired from the services of Chevron at the end of 2010.’’

The statement also noted that Omole would be assuming the new position at MUSON with a wide range of corporate experience from the private sector at a time the society’s Board of Trustees was focused on transforming the organisation into a vibrant music and cultural centre.

Omole takes over from Mrs. Marion Akpata who proceeds on pre-retirement vacation at the end of March 2012.
