Facilities
The Centre is suitably located on 1.666 hectares (2.881 acres) of land in a quiet leisure
and cultural zone of central Lagos, granted to the Society in 1988 by the Lagos State Government.
Opened for business in February 1994, the Centre continues to draw praise from around the world for
its architectural elegance and serene ambience and for its maintenance.
The Complex itself consists of: Shell Nigeria Hall a 1,000 seater conference hall with two adjoining
Function Rooms; the Agip Recital Hall with Stall Seats for 298 persons and 14 Boxes seating 78
additional persons; the School of Music; the Mobil Block, a four-storey structure consisting of
two apartments for MUSON management and visiting artistes and offices; and the La Scala Restaurant
with seating for 100 diners or patrons.
Apart from being the venue of MUSON's
Music School, concert, annual Festival of the Arts
and other programmes, MUSON Centre is also Nigeria's leading Centre
for the Performing Arts: Cinema, Film Festivals, Drama,
Exhibitions, Book and Product Launches etc. MUSON Centre is regarded by art lovers
in Lagos as "the place to be".
Halls at the Center are available for rent for a variety of events such as confrences, lectures, seminars,
product lauches, AGMs, receptions etc.
The MUSON Centre opens from 7.00.a.m to 12.00 Midnight. To secure a firm booking, a minimum of
one - third non - refundable cost of the hall must be paid two weeks from the date of booking,
the balance being payable one month thereafter.
Period of hire covers only eight (8) hours per day. Only snacks are allowed in the foyer of the
Agip Recital Hall and Boardrooms. Tables are available for hire at N500.00 each plus a 10% handling
charge of N50.00 only.
Clients MUST promptly evacuate all sets and stage properties immediately
after their events. Failure to do so will attract a surcharge of N5, 000 per day.
MUSON reserves the right to dispose of sets not collected after 4 days. All applicants are required
to complete and return the attached Application form promptly for approval.
The rates may change without notice. All payments are valid for a period of 90 days only.
For reservations in the Shell Nigeria hall, Grade B rates are for Friday and Saturday events
as well as Weddings, Dinners and Parties on any other day of the week.
Clients are advised to use MUSON recommended caterers or pay the corkage as specified for each hall.
Catering corkage for hall is as follows Shell hall N50, 000 Agip hall N20, 000 function room N12, 000.
